The number of construction companies registered in the last month has increased to 13.8%, the best figure in the last eight years, according to the Industrial Construction Observatory. The management and the sector trade unions point out that this good figure reassures the tractor effect and the creation of jobs in the construction sector.

The number of companies with employees from the construction sector registered with the National Security System has increased to 13.9 % last month, 16,208 more companies have been registered in the last year. This is the best figure in the last eight years, as the Industrial Construction Observatory assures.

For the previous month, the number of registered construction companies has reached 2.1% (2,696 more companies), and companies from this sector represent 10.4% from the total of registered companies with the Social Security. Yesterday, Monday, 10th of May, the data from the number of companies with construction employees registered with the National Security System corresponding to April was published. It was collected by the Industrial Construction Observatory, a tool for the analysis of the sector by the Labour Foundation.

The highest growth rates are from Extremadura (29.1%), Andalucía (25.6%), Castilla-La Mancha (22.0%) and Canary (15.3%). %). In absolute terms, the communities with the largest volume of construction companies are: Catalonia with 23,708 companies, Andalucía with 21,864, the community of Madrid with 18,896 and the Valencian Community with 15,454.

In the economy as a whole, the number of companies increased to 4,2% in year-on-year terms. The construction sector (+13,8%) leads the list of sectors with the largest growth rates, followed by the Service sector (+3.7%) and Industry (+2.4). In the agricultural sector the number of companies decreases with an interannual rate of -0.4%.
