There are days you simply get through… and days you feel deeply. On 10 March, we at Grupo Mora were lucky enough to be part of one of those experiences that stay with you in your memory and in your heart.
María Mora, Managing Director of Grupo Mora, Carolina Martín, Director of People and Corporate Culture, Dr Lunarcita from the Theodora Foundation, and Mario García from Think and Action visited Alzira Hospital on a very special mission: to present personalised pyjamas to the children admitted to the paediatric ward.
Behind every pair of pyjamas lay much more than just a design. There was enthusiasm, sensitivity and purpose. These garments were created earlier by participants in the Leadership School, as part of an activity designed to foster a more humane, responsible and people-centred approach to leadership. Because leadership is also about this: putting our ideas, our time and our hearts at the service of those who need it most.
During the visit, room by room, there were moments that will remain etched in our memories. Dr Lunarcita’s arrival filled every room with smiles, surprise, music, warmth and tenderness. For a few moments, the hospital was transformed into a place of play, excitement and hope. And when it comes to children in hospital, that is of immense value.
At Grupo Mora, we firmly believe that our values must extend beyond our companies. Collaboration, empathy and social commitment are integral to our understanding of who we are and how we want to be in the world. That is why initiatives like this are so meaningful.
We would like to extend our special thanks to the Theodora Foundation for its admirable and vital work. Thanks to its ‘Smile Doctors’, such as the lovely Dr Lunarcita, they achieve something extraordinary: turning a difficult day into a fond memory, and a challenging stay into a slightly more pleasant experience.
We take away so much more than we give. We take away glances, smiles, emotion, and the certainty that small gestures, when they come from the heart, can become something truly special.
